Butterfly Sketch

Trying something a little new. First time I’ve really tried to sketch out the whole layout before digging in. Used actual 9x12 watercolor paper instead of my usual 5x5 sketchbook. 

I enjoyed drawing it, but I’m unsure how the painting of it will turn out. I like the gestural more free style of wet painting so it’ll be interesting to test this out. I intentionally left the pattern of all the butterflies out, I’m going to just make those as a go along.
